Francis E. Miller, 85, of rural Hinckley, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. Francis was born on October 27, 1919 at the Waterman Hospital, the son of Frederick G. and Gertrude (Pflugfelder) Miller. Francis married Charlotte M. Morris at the Big Rock Congregational Church on November 24, 1945. Francis was a graduate of Hinckley High School in 1937. Francis was a farmer in the Maple Park area from 1948 till 2000 and from 1948 to 1972 he was a Dairy Farmer. Francis was a member of the Cortland United Methodist Church, former member of the Pierce Community United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during WWII with 781st squadron as a Master Sgt. Francis also enjoyed bowling in the church bowling league.
    Francis is survived by his wife, Charlotte; and his children, JoAnn (Leland) Russell of Lee, Janet (George) Stevenson of Brookfield, WI, Linda (David) Hoehn of North Aurora, and Ron Miller of Elburn; also survived by his grandchildren, Angela (Brad) Male of Lee, Dawn (Kevin) Grivetti of Hinckley, Kevin Russell of Lee, Renee and Scott Stevenson of Brookfield, WI, Robert and Alexandria Hoehn of North Aurora; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua and Kyle Male, Forrest, Morgan and Aurora Grivetti. Francis is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Phillips of Hinckley; a brother, Glenn (Pat) Miller of Camdenton, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
    Francis was preceded in death by his parents; and infant grandson; two brothers and their wives, Leslie (Alice Mae) Miller and Harold (Pinky) Miller; and his brother-in-law, Herb Phillips Jr.
    Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home with Pastor Sandra Graber of Cortland United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at East Pierce Cemetery, rural Maple Park. Friends may call on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 South 4th Street, DeKalb, IL, from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.
