She was the daughter of Mrs. Mary M. Moffett and the late Mr. Charles Moffett. She attended the public schools of Chester County and graduated from Emmett Scott High School.
She joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church at an early
age and was a faithful member of the musical choir. She was united in Holy wedlock to Mr. Audrey Hemphill and to this union it was blessed with nine children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, a loving daughter and sister who loved her family and provided for them the best she could. During her illness she never complained. She always said, "God will make everything all right".
She leaves to mourn her loving husband Mr. Audrey Hemphiil of the home, mother, Mrs. Mary Moffett, Rock Hill, S. C two daughters; Miss Ruth Audrette Hemphill of the home and Mrs. Veronica Reeaer, Oxon Hill, Md." seven sons; Mr. Gene Hemphill, Mr. Knovell Hemphill, and Mr Melvin Hemphill all of Rock Hill, S. C., Mr. Othonell Hemphill; Mr. Ray Hemphill; both of Charlotte, N. C., and Chester, S. C., respectively, Mr. Gerald Hemphill and Mr. Dennis Hemphill both of the home.
Also four sisters; Mrs. Almond Brown, Chester, S. C., Mrs. Annie Douglas, Rock Hill, S. C., Mrs. Lureatha Hoyles and Mrs. Mildred Foster both of Rock Hill,
S. C., six brothers; Mr. Charlie C. Moffett, Mr. Marion Moffett both of Rock Hill, s. C., Mr. Joseph Moffett; Mr. James W. Moffett; Mr. Willie A. Moffett and Mr Horace Moffett all of Baltimore, Maryland.
