He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. He attended the public schools of Chester, SC. Clyde was a World War II veteran, serving his country in Naples Foggia, Southern France, and Rome-Ama. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, the EAMET Service Medal, and was awarded an Honorable Discharge. He retired from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company after 30 years of service.
Surviving him are a loving wife, Mrs. Sophie W. Moffatt; six daughters, Mrs. Shirley M. Lee, Mrs. Juanita M. Hall, Miss Diane Moffatt, Mrs. Verna M. McNeal all of Rock Hill, Mrs. Ruby L. Morgan of Jamaica, NY and Mrs. Peggy Danner of Augusta, GA; four sons, Mr. Stanley D. MoffuttofRockHill and Mr. PhillipL. Moffatt of Brownsville, NJ,Mr. Mac Arthur Williamson of Brooklyn, NY and Mr. Sammie Williamson of Batesburg, SC; five sisters, Mrs. Luretha M. Hoyles, Mrs. Mildred M. Foster, Mrs. Annie M.
