Mrs. Sarah Conley was born in County Monaghan, Ireland in 1824, and died at her home in this city August 29, after an illness of but two days. Deceased came to this county about forty years ago, since which time she has resided in or near Darlington, except five or six years tha tshe lived in Nebraska with her son, the late Rev. Father Conley. She was the mother of 12 children, 7 of whom are living and were present at the time of her death.
Mrs. Conley was a most devoted wife and mother, one whose very disposition was compatible with christianity. Her life's mission seemed to be to lighten the cares of those with whom she came in contact, and her cheery disposition and loving acts of kindness have been a source of comfort to hundreds with whom she was associated during her long life of usefulness. Her death, like her life, was peaceful and serene.
Her funeral was held on Monday and was attended by a large number of her old neighbors. In conducting the services the Rev. Father Hannon paid a very touching tribute to her sterling christian character and many virtues.
