Clifford Vernon Bemis, age 83, of Foley was born on December 23, 1923 in Greenbrush Twp., Mille Lacs Country, Minnesota, to Clair and Bertha (Deuel) Bemis. Cliff attended District 7 school in Estes Brook until 8th grade. He Married Leita Wagoner on June 24, 1946 at the First Presbyterian Church in Foley. He was a self employed truck driver from the ages of 14 until 77. He was in charge of Civil Service during the 50's and 60's. Cliff was on the Benton County Co-op Board for over 30 years; had been a member of the Foley Volunteer Fire Department; was very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Foley where he was an elder. He was especially proud of receiving his GED at the age of 63 in 1987. Cliff and his wife, Leita loved to travel in their RV.
He is survived by his wife, Leita of Foley, daughters, Pat (Ken) Ebensteiner, Foley; Sandy (John) Gibbs, St. Cloud; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, and a brother, Alden (Darlene), Milaca.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Bemis-Happe, brother and sister, Duaine 'Bud', Bonita 'Bonnie' Wenberg and an infant brother and an infant sister, Dickie and Velma
