Bonita Belle Wenberg was the daughter of Clair and Bertha (Deuel). She attended District 7 country school in Greenbush township, Mille Lacs County until 8th grade. She attended the Milaca High School and graduated in 1944. Bonnie married William Stephen Heindl on December 15, 1945 in Chicago. They moved to Seattle Washington and then to California. They had 2 children, William and Wendy before Bonnie's husband died on March 22, 1958. Bonnie and her children moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and she purchased a motel and rented it out to school teachers. She married Ronald Meredith Wenberg on March 24, 1959 and had one child, David.
Bonnie enjoyed growning house plants, cooking and playing bingo. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the VFW Eagles and American Legion Auxilaries.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald of Detroit Lakes; a daughter Wendy (Loren)Hieggelke of Maribel, Wisconsin; two sons: William (Rhonda) of Little Rock AR and David (Susan) of Eagan, MN; 5 grandchildren: Jaimie Hieggelke of Denmark WI; Katie Hieggelke of Lino Lakes, MN; Richard Hieggelke of Marible, WI; Shane Wenberg of Little Rock, AR; Lucas Wenberg of St. Louis Park, MN; 2 brothers: Clifford (Leita) Bemis of Foley, MN and Alden (Darlene) Bemis of Milaca, MN; a sister-in-law: Phyllis Bemis of Emily, MN; 5 nieces and 5 nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents and two brothers: Duaine "Bud" and Waldon and an infant sister, Velma.
