Waldon "Dickie" Bemis, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Bemis died unexpectedly at his home in Estes Brook Sunday evening, September 29, 1940. His sudden death was a great shock to the family as he was apparently in good health, at supper time; he was as playful as ever and shortly afterwards he was placed in his crib. About an hour and half later when one of the family went to see if he was covered they discovered he had passed away. Upon the advice of the doctor called he was rushed to the hospital in Princeton, but to no avail. He had died from a gland swelling shut in his throat.
Waldon "Dickie" was born May 27, 1940. At the time of his death he was four months and two days. He is survivied by his parents, brothers, Clifford, Duane, Alden and one sister, Bonita, besides his grandparents and a lot of other relatives. Funeral services were conducted at the Estes Brook Methodist Church on Tuesday afternoon at 2 pm with Rev. Clyde Shattuck oficiating. Two duets were sung by Mrs. Frank Rosenquist and Mrs. Magnie Bleed and a solo by Victor Sandquist. Pall bearers were Darlene Deuel, Betty Mae Strombeck, Marion and James Bemis, cousins of "Dickie". Our heartfelt symphathy is extended to the bereaved family in the loss of their beloved baby.
