Willie Howard Burke – 69, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was the son of the late WILL HADEN BURKE and the late RILDA THOMAS BURKE and was also preceded in death by his wife, LENA KING BURKE; two sons, JEFFERY WAYNE BURKE and MICHAEL EUGENE BURKE; five brothers, LEWIS, T.L., MITCHELL, OVIA, and ESTER BURKE; one sister, DOROTHY MARCUM; two brothers-in-law, CAL TERRY and ODELL WILLIAMS; one sister-in-law, ALENE BURKE; and father-in-law KIRBY KING. MR. BURKE, who was a member of Foster Crossroads Baptist Church, was a retired employee of Tibbals Flooring Co. He is survived by two sons, PAUL BURKE, and DALE BURKE and wife FANNIE of Oneida; four grandchildren, DUSTIN BURKE, CANDANCE CHITWOOD and husband BILLY, RACHEL BURKE, and REVA BURKE, all of Oneida; mother-in-law LINA KING; sisters, CONNIE TERRY, ELIZABETH BOYATT and husband ARNOLD, MENDA WILLIAMS, and ALICE HAMBY WALKER; brothers, J.D. BURKE and wife KATHLEEN, CRESTIN BURKE and wife ELVEDA, JESSE BURKE and wife KAY, and LESTER BURKE and wife BRENDA, all of Oneida; two sisters-in-law, GEORGIA WALKER and husband COYEN, and GERALDINE BURKE; two brothers-in-law, WILLIAM DOC KING and wife JOYCE, and ROBERT KING and wife CONNIE; a special friend, ROBERTA STRUNK; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, February 21, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home, with Bro. CRESTIN JEREMY BURKE and Bro. LLOYD KING officiating. Burial was in the Hazel Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Foster Crossroads Baptist Church.
