Mrs. Matilda S. Black, aged 52 years, wife of David Harrison Black of Nineveh, PA died December 21, 1923.

Mrs. Black, who was one of the best known women in the Nineveh section, had been in failing health for several months. Her maiden name was Wilds and before coming to Nineveh with her husband and family twenty years ago, she lived in Pittsburgh, PA.

Mrs. Black was a member of the St. John Lutheran church of Homestead, PA

Besides her husband she leaves seven children, Mrs. John (Mary) Carter of near Nineveh; Mrs. Glenn (Myrtle) Cathers of Nineveh; Harry Black, Jr. of near Waynesburg, PA; Samuel, Webster, Gladys, and Matilda Black all at home.

The following brothers and sisters are surviving; Christian B. Wilds, Homer Wilds, and Vinnie Wilds Jones all of Pittsburgh; Albert Wilds of Cleveland; and Emma (Samuel) Black of Gallipolis, OH.

Funeral services were held in the Black Home with interment following in Green Mount Cemetery, Waynesburg, PA--Democrat Messenger, December 28, 1923.
