"Mother, dearest, to you we'd turn
When skies were fair, or when sad we'd yearn
For the soothing touch of gentle hands
And the smile of one who'd understand.
The loving words you've often said
Are jewels strung on a gold thread;
Jewels so rich, radiant and rate,
That they're locked in our hearts and treasured there.
