Hugh F. "Monk" Parson, 93, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died October 3, 2011 at his home. He was born August 11, 1918 at Loy, Arkansas, the son of Ray and Eliza Whorton Parson. He was a lifelong farmer, a Baptist and a veteran of World War Two, serving in the United States Army in France and Germany. He was a former member of the American Legion and an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Bill Parson, Carl Parson, Herbert Parson, Jessie Parson, Garland Parson and Quinton Parson and one sister, Irene Easterling.

Survivors include: his wife of sixty-four years, Maxine Jones Parson of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Beth Parson of Cave Springs, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Norman Roach of Huntsville, Arkansas and Donna Seymour and Ed Brewer of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one brother, Ewell Parson of Huntsville, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, Martha Clark, Dwunna Vanhook, Justin Seymour and Debbie Seymour, Secily and Justin Brown, Leah and Erik Mitchell, Holly Parson, Micheal and Jennifer Roach and eight great-grandchildren, Brennen Seymour, Aubrey Seymour, Jacob Seymour, Zachariah Brown, Mason Roach, Austin Roach, Wyatt Roach and Kayli Roach.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, October 7, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend Jim Spurlock officiating. Interment will be in the Wharton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Curren Parson, Byron Parson, Jerry Ledbetter, Josh Murr, Lee Holt and Micheal Roach.
