Ray W. Parson, 82, of Huntsville succumbed to an apparent heart attack Tuesday, Jan. 26, white attending the Huntsville Livestock Auction. Mr. Parson was born Aug. 27, 1882 in , Hickory, Mo. the son of David Parson and Mary Jane McCorkle Parson. He moved to Madison county with his grandparents at the age of eleven years. He was married to Eliza Elizabeth Whorton Oct. 5, 1905.

Survivors are eight sons, Jesse and Quinton Parson of Fullerton, Calif.; and Carl, Herbert, Garland, Hugh and Ewell Parson of Huntsville; one brother, Will Parson of Holdenville, Okla.; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Aurora Pentecostal church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Jake Drake and Rev. Burr Wiggins officiating. Song Service was provided by Norma Chancellor, Rev. J. D. Farrell, Homer Murphy and Lige Peters, accompanied by Marcia Beckworth at the piano.

Burial was in Whorton Creek cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Guy T. Bolinger, Jim Fancher, Tom Earl Smith, Vernon Williams, Elmer Faddis and Joe Frank Faddis.
