Jesse Oren Parson, 89, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., died Jan 22, 2003, at Good Samaritan in Mission Veijo, Calif. He was born Nov. 12, 1913, at Loy, Ark, the son of Ray Winfrey and Eliza Elizabeth Whorton Parson.

He had worked at Geib Lumber in Huntington Park, Calif. for 30 years before retiring in Spring Valley, Ark., where he farmed for 20 years prior to returning to California to live with his granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Faddis Parson, on Oct. 18, 1990, one daughter, Mrs. Darlene Griffith, four brothers, Carl Parson, Hubert Parson, Bill Parson and Garland Parson, and one sister, Mrs. Irene Easterling.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Teresa DuBois of Boulder, Colo.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Cindy Potter of San Juan Capistrano and Mrs. Anne Marie Thach of Boulder, Colo.; three brothers, Ewell Parson, Quinton Parson and Hugh Parson, all of Huntsville; and two great-grandchildren, McKenna Potter and Curren Potter, both of San Juan Capistrano.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Butch Bolinger officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville.

Pallbearers will be: Curren Parson, Mark Parson, J.C. Parson, O'Donald Parson, Raymond Parson, Greg Parson, Elmer Faddis and Terry Bowline.
