Johann Philip (went by Philip) Rominger was the third of twelve known children of Michael Rominger (1759-1818) and Anna Maria Fishel Rominger (1758-1848) who married 18 Jun 1780 at Friedland, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina.

Philip married Elisabeth Greter (surname became Crater later in the 1800s) (1787-1870) on 16 Dec 1807 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Philip and Elisabeth were the parents of five known children, all born in Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina, namely:

1. Samuel C. Rominger (1808-1882)
2. Levi Jacob Rominger (1811-1892)
3. Caroline Rebecca Rominger Rominger (1816-1863)
4. Elizabeth Lydia Rominger Fishel (1823-1894)
5. Granville Theodore Rominger (1825-1881)

In 1831 the family moved to the Moravian community of Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana. Philip was a farmer. Some records indicate that Philip died 12 Dec 1860; but 12 Sep 1860 is shown on his grave marker and I will use that.

Links to Philip's parents, wife, all five of his known children and ten of his eleven known siblings are included below.
