Announcements.
— Rev. Samuel Murphy whose death was mentioned in the Sentinel last week, died at his home on Bee Ridge, on Tuesday evening, May 17, at 4 o'clock. He was taken sick the night before with congestion of the stomach, and suffered greatly until his death. He was conscious, however, until the end, and gave careful directions to his family concerning all of his business affairs. Rev. Murphy was one of the old settlers of the county, and was one of the leading and influential citizens of the county for many years. He was an honorable man, a true and earnest christian, and had the highest confidence and respect of his neighbors and all who knew him. He was a large land owner and was a successful farmer and for many years a leading shipper of live stock. He was successful in all of his business affairs and left a large and valuable estate. His wife, one son and three daughters survive him. The remains were interred in the Bee Ridge cemetery on Wednesday evening after funeral services by Rev. T. O. Taylor, and notwithstanding the evening was rainy and disagreeable, the church was filled with sorrowing friends and neighbors.
