Mrs. Eleanor Murphy died at the home of her son, Robert Murphy, on Bee Ridge Tuesday afternoon. She was over eighty years of age and had been confined to her bed for some time by paralysis.
Mrs. Murphy was well known and respected, being an early settler of the county and the wife of the Rev. Mitchell, who lives at the old family homestead on Bee Ridge; of Mrs. W. F. Cater of Macon and Mrs. Geo. C. Canton of Illinois. These with her son, mentioned above, one bother, Cyrus Schultz of Minnesota and grandchildren are the nearest surviving relatives. Mrs. Murphy was the only daughter in a family of six children, four of whom came to Missouri in an early day. Her parents were John and Marie (Crawford) Schultz of Franklin County, Indiana. Three of her brothers, Sylvester and Henry Schultz, both now dead, and Cyrus Schultz were also early settlers on Bee Ridge near her old home.
Funeral sevices were conducted at the Bee Ridge Church by the pastor, Rev. J. A. Foutch and burial was in the Bee Ridge cemetery. Mrs. Murphy was one of the charter members of the Bee Ridge Church when it was organized.
