Roy Brown, a well known Waverly area farmer, passed away Tuesday, January 18 at Norris Hospital in Jacksonville. He was 82 years of age.
He was born, January 12, 1890, son of Herman and Mary Glassner Brown. He married Gleanna Byrkit on January 6, 1915. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Warren of Waverly and David of Western Springs; and two daughters, Helen at home and Mrs. Alice Patterson of Baldwin. There are eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Herman A. of Waverly and a sister, Mrs. Frank Duewer, also of Waverly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.
Mr. Brown was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Services were held Thursday afternoon at the Neece Funeral Home with Rev. Wolford Price officiating.
Burial was in Waverly East Cemetery.
