Mrs. Gleana Brown, wife of F. Roy Brown of this community, died Thursday evening, February 11 at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born November 5, 1894 at Fairfield, Neb., daughter of the late Jeff and Mary Frainer Byrkit. She married Mr. Brown January 6, 1915. He survives with two daughters, Helen Brown at home; and Mrs. Alice Patterson of Baldwin, Ill.; and two sons, Warren R. of Waverly; and David B. of Western Springs, Ill.
There are nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs.Eva East of Clay Center, Neb.; Mrs.Lucille Hill of Hot Springs, S. D.; and Mrs. Myrtle Cropp of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three brothers, Floyd of Clay Center, Neb.; Ralph of Rapid City, S.D.; and Harry of Western Springs, Ill. also survive.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and a grandson.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church, the DAR, the Waverly chapter of OES, and the Waverly Woman's Club.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Neece Funeral Home with Rev.Kenneth Conant officiating.
Burial was in Waverly East Cemetery.
