MRS. ACKLES FUNEAL WILL OCCUR FRIDAY
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at the Perryman Chapel fro Mrs. C. W. Ackles, who died Monday, May 2, at the home of her grandson, Gaylord Ackles at Anita, Iowa. Asthma and heart trouble was the cause of the demise. She had been ill for only a few days.
Rev. J. Fansher of the Methodist Church will be in charge of the service. Pall bearers will be Thos. Kirby, Ben Dukeshire, Veimer Johnson, Martin Johnson, Frank B. Gilmore, and Glenn Bellis. Music will be by Stephen Fifield, soloist and Mrs. Ray Cozad, organist. On the floral committee will be Mrs. Thos. Kirby, Mrs. Veimer Johnson, Mrs. Tom Beeson, and Mrs. Frank Gilmore. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Alice May, daughter of Joseph and Hannah Bean, was born March 16, 1863 in Polo, Illinois. She was married March 12, 1880 near Red Oak to Charles Wesley Ackles, who died September 11, 1934, at their home south of Red Oak.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Gaylord Ackles of Anita and Gerrard Ackles of Omaha. There are three great grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters also survived. They are Claude Purcell of Everett, Washington, William Purcell of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Addie Brookheiser of Peoria, Illinois, and Mrs. Ida Murray of St. Louis, Missouri.
Mrs. Ackles lived for 60 yers on the same farm south of Red Oak. She moved to Omaha in 1945 and to Anita in 1947, where she made her home with her grandson, Gaylord Ackles.
