Bio

A photo of a headstone is only part of a memorial . Some have several stones . A memorial is a rememberance of a person gone . There will sometimes be several spellings for names and several dates of birth . Right and wrong are moral questions that deal with intent . We are standardizing spellings to make them easier to find . Before the digital age of computers , many of us could spell our names phonetically and not be wrong to narrow thinking .
Contrary to the myth , if it is written in stone , it may be permanent but not correct . The stone cutter can make errors too.

A few years back I received my Grand father's Death Certificate . Many things were provably in error , but it was a legal document . I have worked in and out Court houses for over fifty years and through that time I was always challenged to find two documents perfectly in alignment .
I consider all dates , names , and spellings of names to be well intended but approximate and changeable . When I work from written data , I also make momentary errors . If you put an approximate date down , I understand . It can be changed with more documentation.
Borrow all the photos . Post lots of flowers . Posting intimate details of the dead may be exciting and fun for you but is not necessarily scholarship .
Be sensitive to the families who read what you do , as if the dead are your lovers and family . Please do not post Death Certificates , particularly those of suicides . I assume I have many more suicides in my immediate family than you do , but I have hope that fewer people end their lives because they aren't loved .
