Charles Finnell (1762-1842) was born in what is now Culpeper County, Virginia. As a teenager in Washington's army, he was present at the British surrender at Yorktown. Later, as a Baptist preacher, he helped found churches in both Kentucky and Missouri. He is buried outside the village of Mount Airy in Randolph County, Missouri.
I am one of Charles Finnell's many descendants.
