Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 1994, at
Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. Rev. Reginald Schrimpf, S.D.S. and
Deacon James Steffen will officiate, preceded by brief family rites at 9:45 a.m.
at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel. Burial will be in the parish
cemetery.
She is the former Shirley Schwab, born April 30, 1925, in St. Nazianz, daughter
of the late Leo and Anna Simon Schwab. She was a 1942 graduate of Kiel High School.
On April 7, 1945, she married Francis Deehr at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St.
Nazianz. The couple farmed in the School Hill area and also owned and operated
Deehr's Bar in School Hill from 1969 to 1993. She was a member of Holy Trinity
Catholic Church, School Hill, Altar Society and a member of the Christian Womens
Society.
Survivors include her husband, Francis; six children, Barbara (Duane) Kessler, St.
Anna, Daniel (Aggie), Cleveland, Jeffery (Barb) Sarasota, Fla., Annette (Paul)
Raeder, Torreon, Mexico, Justin, Milwaukee, Leon (Julie), Sarasota, Fla.; seven
grandsons; one granddaughter; two step-grandsons; four sisters, Catherine (John)
Brannigan, Sheboygan, Bernice (Norman) Schneider, Valders, Arlene (James) Deehr,
Newton, Bernadine (David) Ryan, Valdres. She was preceded in death by twin sons,
David and Richard.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Home, Kiel from 4-9 p.m. Friday,
November 4, 1994, and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service. The rosary
will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established in her name.
