Schwab, Leo Frank (July 4, 1895-April 4, 1963 –husband of Anna Simon [married Oct. 23, 1922 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Ambrose Schwab and Anna Kautzer –born Town of Schleswig –WW I veteran –farmer and blacksmith –on Sept. 12, 1929 purchased from his widowed mother the house and small farm at 18035 County C in Section 25, Town of Eaton –lived here until selling on April 13, 1939 –on Aug. 30, 1950 purchased the house at 110 South First Avenue in St. Nazianz from his widowed mother-in-law Katherine Simon –Katherine Simon continued to live here until her death in 1957 –Leo’s wife, Anna, also died in 1957 –Leo continued to live in this house until his death in 1963 –died from “carcinoma of esophagus and stomach”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 4, Row 6, Lot 21] [marriage record Manitowoc 17-674] [death record Manitowoc 58-147]

LEO SCHWAB

Leo F. Schwab, 66, of St. Nazianz, died Thursday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.

He was born July 4, 1896, in the Town of Schleswig, a son of Ambrose and Anna Schwab. He was a farmer and blacksmith in the Towns of Liberty and Eaton.
Mr. Schwab was married to Anna Simon Oct. 23, 1922, at St. Nazianz. She died Oct. 25, 1957.
He was a World War I veteran and a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. John Brannigan of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Francis Deehr of School Hill, Mrs. Norman Schneider of R. 1, Valders, Mrs. James Deehr of Osman, and Mrs. Dave Ryan of Valders; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Christianson Funeral Home, St. Nazianz, and at 10:15 a.m. at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. The Rev. Denis Cooney, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rosarywill be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.
