Anna M. Wasserman, 77, of 1521 W. McGormley Road, Fremont, died at 12:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2000, in Memorial Hospital, Fremont.

She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Seneca County, to Albert and Leona (Houck) Benner. Her first husband, Oscar Babione, whom she married in 1942, died in 1952. On Sept. 17, 1955, she married Ervin Wasserman, who survives in Fremont.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Suzanne Michael, Catherine Miller and Flossie Swint, all of Fremont, and Marilyn Babione of Chicago; three sons, Tom Babione and Michael Wasserman, both of Fremont, and Willie Babione of Willard; 23 grandchildren, two foster grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Benner of Tiffin and Virgil Benner of Huron; and three sisters, Mary Shafer of Bucyrus, Doris Weikert of McCutchenville and Betty Cooper of Tucson, Ariz.

Two grandchildren; two brothers, Herman and Louis Benner; and four sisters, Marjorie Turner, Alma Price and Bernice and Catherine Benner, are deceased.

Mrs. Wasserman, a homemaker, was a 1940 graduate of Scipio-Republic High School.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont, the Confraturnity of Blessed Sacrament and different bowling leagues and card clubs.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont, with burial following in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, Fremont.

Memorials may be made to the Catholic Education Development Fund or St. Joe School Playground Fund.
