She was born May 8, 1924, in Seneca County, to Albert and Leona (Houck) Benner. She married Gordon G. Weikert Oct. 21, 1948, and he died March 5, 2009.
Surviving are three children, Pam Weikert of Findlay, Marc (Ann) Weikert of McCutchenville and Jeff (Carrie) Weikert of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren, Brian Weikert, Abbey Rabon, Zachary Weikert, Jared Weikert and Jordan Weikert; four great-grandchildren, Daniel, Ellen, Gabriel and Owen Weikert; and one sister, Betty Cooper of Oracle, Ariz.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Louis, Herman, Walter and Virgil Benner; and six sisters, Bernice and Catherine Benner, Alma Price, Anna Babione-Wasserman, Mary Shafer and Marjorie Turner.
Doris was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Carey. For hobbies she loved to bake cookies and all kinds of pies.
A memorial Mass for Doris will take place at a later date.
