Born December 3, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of James and Antoina (Rican) Sveska. He and Evelyn Bradley were married June 29, 1947, by the Reverend R.C.G. Williams in Bay City.
Mrs. Sveska survives as do three sons, Kevin James of Whitmore Lake, Kim Jeffrey of Wixom and Kristopher L. of Belleville; four sisters, three brothers and six grandchildren.
Mr. Sveska came to South Lyon from Milan in 1947 and retired from General Motors Proving Grounds in 1975. He was a member of the first United Methodist Church of South Lyon and had been on the South Lyon Housing Commission and helped with Little League.
Officiating at the funeral Monday at Phillips Funeral Home were the Reverend Douglas Mercer, pastor of the South Lyon United Methodist Church, and the Reverend Ferris Woodruff, a former pastor of the church. Burial was in South Lyon Cemetery. October 21, 1981 South Lyon Herald
