Ellen resided in Nevada until 1993 when she moved to Ames and began receiving assistance from Story County Community Services and Heartland Services. Ellen enjoyed caring for and walking her dog, Patty.
Her sister, Mrs. James (Marjorie) Henry of rural Boone; her brother, Harry Kitchen of Ames and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews survive.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Leona Kitchen on May 6, 2002.
