He was born on October 12, 1892 the son of Joseph and Phoebe Loe near Taylors Station in Whitley county. His formative years were spent in Columbia City and he attended the West Ward School. After completed his education, he was employed as a lumber cutter for 26 years by the Peabody Lumber Company. He later transfered to the Caswell-Runyan Company in Huntington and retired from there in 1950. When he suffered a stroke.
He was united in marrage on January 10, 1931 to Olive J. DeWitt and most of their married life was spent in Whitley county, moving to Larwill in 1955.
The surviving relatives include the wife Olive: five sons, Ralph in Idaho, James at Larwill, Franklin of South Whitley, Arthur, Larwill and Dale, Larwill: three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Ulrey, Warsaw, Mrs. Leo (Alice) Mort, Pierceton, Mrs. Kenneth (Catherine) Sheets, Larwill: two step daughters, Mrs. Imogene Tyler, Huntington and Mrs. Arthur Walters, Larwill. 37 grandchildren, 29 great grand-children, one brother, George Earl Loe, Larwill and one sister, Mrs. Jennifer mosher, a resident at the Millers Merry Manor.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte, one sister, Samantha Finton anf four brothers, Murlen, Harvey, John and Isaac Loe.
The body is at the Smith and Sons Funeral Home where the family will receive friends after 7 p.m. today. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Graham L. Kleespie officiating.
The committal services and burial will be in South Whitley cemetery.
