Funeral services for G. G. Doherty, 62, who died Wednesday afternoon in Vivian, were held Thursday at 4 p.m. at Lackey funeral home in Vivian. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery here, with Rev. John Caylor, pastor of the Highland Baptist church, officiating.
Mr. Doherty, who had lived in Shreveport 25 years, moved to Vivian in 1936. In Shreveport, he was a policeman for several years and a special agent for the L. R. and N. railroad.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maude Doherty, 1015 Foster street, Shreveport; two brothers, Bill Doherty, Shreveport, and Dan Doherty, Jennings; three sisters: Miss Ruth Wales, Shreveport; Mrs. Mabel Dyse {sic: Dyess}, Corpus Christi, Texas; and Mrs. W. E. {Sarah Lenora} Lang, Gilliam; and several nieces and nephews.
