FRANK E. GUETTNER, 86 OF 108 New Midway Road, Kingston Passed away on June 21, 2000 at home. Born on Christmas Day 1913 at the Guettner Ancestral Home in the Poplar Springs Community to Christy and Nannie Tutterow Guettner. Frank was a lifelong resident of Roane County. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Jane Hicks Guettner; son and daughter in law Patrick and Trisha; son Jack; brother William C. "Bill"; grandson, Chris and wife Angie and great granddaughter Katie; grandson, Mark and wife Brandy and great grandson Austin all from Kingston. Mr Guettner was preceded in death by brothers, Ed, Perry, Elmer, and Leonard and sisters Blanche and Gladys. He was a US ARMY Veteran, WW11, and retired from the University of Tennessee. He gave a lifetime of community service to church and community, serving as Chairman of the Board of Cardwell's Chapel Methodist Church as current member of Kingston First Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Club and East Roane County Ruirtan Club, as former President of ABCS, and charter member and President of the Poplar Springs Cemetery Association for 50 years. The family will receive friends at the Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston on Thursday evening, June 22, 2000, from 6-8pm with the funeral at 8pm. Interment will be held at Kingston Memorial Gardens on Friday, June 23, 2003, at 11:00am with full Military Honors provided by the Roane County Military Honor Guard, Kyker Funeral Hone In Kingston in charge of arrangements.
