Jesse Lucas died October 8 in the home three miles north of Carrollton. Funeral service was conducted Tuesday in the home by his pastor, Rev. G. H. Souder of the Reformed Church, and interment was made in Grandview cemetery. Mr. Lucas was born August 9, 1866, in Carroll County, and was a farmer and carpenter. He was married October 29, 1892, to Isabelle Ray, who survives with the following children; Oscar, Frank, Elmer, Walter, Jesse, Lorin, Elva and Freeda. Living brothers and sisters are Charles Lucas of Massillon, John A. Lucas of Lamartine, Mrs. Steve Walters and Mrs. Ed Walters of Carrollton.

Jesse J. Lucas son of John A. and Sarah J. Lucas, peacefully fell asleep in Jesus, Sunday morning at 10:00 O'clock. he was born August 9, 1866 and departed this life October 8, 1922, age 56. He was married October 29, 1892 to Isabelle Ray at Carrollton who survives, with the following children. Oscar of Washington Twp., Frank and Howard of Carrollton, Elmer, Jesse, Walter, Loren, Elva and Freda of the home and four grandchildren. Living sisters are Mrs. Steve Walters and Mrs. Ed Walters of Carrollton. One-half brother James A. Lucas of Lamartine. All who are left among his wide circle of friends to mourn the great loss and who will sadly miss his smiling face whose deeds of kindness which he was forever showing to those about him.
