Special to the news:
Funeral services for W.P. McKenna, 83, who died in Stuart Hospital Tuesday were held here Friday in St. Patrick's Church. Mr. McKenna residing here about one year since coming from Neligh, was born in Wisconsin, came to Holt County in 1901, living near Inman. Residing in Boyd County twelve years until 1918, he moved to Neligh, living there till he came here. His wife, one son and two daughters preceded him in death. Surviving are three sons and six daughters, those of this vicinity being Gus McKenna, Creighton; Louis McKenna, Plainview; and Mrs. Loretta Duffy, Battle Creek. The Rev. Daniel Brick officiated at the funeral services. Burial was made here in Calvary cemetery.
According to Dan Dufphey( Williams grandson), William had burned himself badly while cooking and by the time he sought medical attention it was too late
