Martin Baker was a son of Otho Baker & Mary (Cox)Baker.

They divided the land with 80 acres to Eliajah & 71 acres to M.V. Baker. According to his great grandson Creston Baker, Martin Baker was depressed. One winter day he went out to feed the cattle and did not come back to the house. A search was made and he was found in the lower barn where he had hanged himself.
