Otho Baker was a son of Otho Baker 1781-1855 and Mary Cox Baker 1796-1870. His first wife was Zella Drusilla Birney who died in 1841 giving birth to a second child. Her first child was Robert Birney Baker 1842-1926. Zella was buried in the Bethol Church cemetery where other members of her family are buried. Her tombstone was lost for years. It was found in 2022 by prodding the ground. Her tombstone and others in the same row had fallen over and were covered in dirt

His second wife was Catherine Shanks who died in 1862. She had 6 children. Catherine and a 12 year old Nancy Shanks are buried together in a little family cemetery just outside of Tippecanoe, Ohio.

Otho is buried here with his third wife Mary Ann Shanks who he married in 1862. They had 6 children. Catherine Shanks was a sister to Mary Shanks.

The 1862 Plot Map for Harrison County, Ohio shows that Otho had 294 acres of land in Washington Township near Tipecanoe, Ohio. He had that land before 1842 because his mother-in-law Nancy Shanks was buried on this farm in 1842. In 1882 his wife Catherine Shanks died and was buried beside her mother in a small private family cemetery.
