Owen E. Hammons, 81, of 2998 South S.R. 62, Hanover, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the King's Daughters' Hospital.


He was born on Aug. 31, 1915, in Trimble County, the son of James and Carrie King Hammons. He was a retired mechanic, a farmer, a former member of the Clifty Creek Saddle Club, and a member of the Corn Creek Baptist Church.


Surviving are his wife, Daisy Adams Hammons of Pleasant; three daughters, Catherine Richardson ofOsgood, Barbara Richards of Pleasant and Ann Neace of Hanover, two sons, Norman Hammons of Madison and Allen Hammons of Lexington; four sisters, Marie McDole of Madison, Della Coffin of Bedford, Ky., Lela Mahoney and Thelma Crafton, both of Madison; one brother, Randall Hammons of Manville; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Roberta Hammons; one sister and one brother.


Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton, with burial in the Moffett Cemetery.


Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.


Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Ronald McDonald House, 550 S. First St., Louisville, KY 40202.
