Blanche Brown Services Held----Laverne, Oklahoma News Obituary:

Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Brown were held Friday, July 20, 1979 at 2 p.m. in the Laverne United Methodist church with Rev. Wesley Peterman officiating. Grandsons served as pall bearers. Burial was in the Gate Cemetery under the direction of Seeger Funeral Home, Laverne.
Blanche Lena Bowers, daughter of Charles and Lena (Falk) Bowers was born May 11, 1892 near Cushing, Payne Co., OK, and died Tuesday evening, July 17, 1979 in the Ashland District Hospital, Ashland, Clark Co., Kansas. She was 87 years of age.
She was one of 11 children and came to Harper County with her parents in 1902 after her father had filed on a government homestead claim.
On December 24, 1910, at Buffalo, Harper Co., OK, Blanche and James R. Brown were married. They became the parents of four children; Elton Roy; Arlene Merle; Marvin Darrel and Evelyn Elaine.
Mr. Brown died in 1931 and Blanche with her family of small children continued to live on their farm through the dust bowl days and until 1948 when she moved to Laverne after purchasing a home on South Broadway.
Blanche was the oldest member of the Ditch Valley Club, organized in 1921, and a member of the Gate Oklahoma Eastern Star Lodge but later transferring her membership to the Laverne Lodge.
Mrs. Brown accepted the LORD as her personal Savior on July 29, 1976.
In addition to her husband, Blanche was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Arlene McNaughton, in 1942; one son, Elton, in October, 1978; and grandsons, James Elton Brown in July, 1978, James Robert and Charles Dennis McNaughton.
