Helen Nellie Richter
Services for Miss Helen Nellie Richter, 48, who died Wednesday morning, March 11, at the Memorial hospital in Lancaster; where held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Glen Haven with the Rev. Lambert M. Marx officiating. Burial was made in the family lot at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bloomington. The Metcalfe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Leroy Esser, Robert Hamilton, Paul Frair, Elgie Richter, Roy Myers, and Robet Vogt.

The daughter of Mrs. Catherine Vogt Richter and the late Albert Richter, Nellie was born September 5, 1910, at Patch Grove. She was an invalid for the past 32 years and had been a diabetic the past several years.

She enjoyed working with her hands doing a considerable handiwork until the last 2 years when her eyesight failed. After she became too much too care for he mother she was place in a number of Nursing Homes. At Christmas time she was taken to the home of her sister Mrs. Stewart Bradley, Glen Haven; who cared for her more than a month before she entered the Dresen Nursing Home in Cassville.

Survivors include her mother, five sisters; Mrs. Florence Hill, Mrs. Lawrence (Sabina) Strand, Mrs. Marlow (Anna) Waller, all of Prairie du Chien; Mrs. Charles (Mary) Berger, Aurora, Illinois; and Mrs. Stewart (Alberta) Bradley, Glen Haven; one brother, Celestine, Cassville.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1924 and a sister Dorothy, in 1953.
