Mrs. Kiene Dies

Widely Known Topekan Had Lived in Kansas 40 Years
Had Been Ill for Only a Short Time

Mrs. F.A. Kiene, 76, died at 2:40 o'clock this morning at her home, 901 Lincoln street. Pneumonia was the cause of her death. She had been ill only a few days.

Mrs. Kiene was born in France in 1846*, and came with her parents to America in 1853, settling near Lima, Ohio. She was married to Mr. Kiene in 1867, and with him came to Kansas in 1882, settling on a farm near Valencia. Here they lived continuously until about two years ago, when they moved to Topeka.

She is survived by her husband, eight sons, L.L. Kiene, Guy Kiene, both of Topeka; Julian Kiene, of Chillicothe, Ill.; Albert Kiene, of Berryton; Dr. Otto Kiene, of Concordia; Arthur Kiene, of De Queen, Ark.; Carl Kiene, of Shreveport, La., and John Kiene, of Muskogee, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. W.W. Harris and Mrs. Ernest Lonaker, both of Topeka, and one brother, Emil Doriot, of Pandora, Ohio.

The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock, Monday afternoon at the residence. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
