The Westville Reporter newspaper had the following obituary in August, 1960:

"Funeral service for Robert E. Jeffery, 84, was held Wednesday morning, August 3, at 10:00 o'clock in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wade Cheatum, Lincoln, Ark., officiating. Hymns were presented by the members of the Church of Christ. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery at Wewoka. Pallbearers and flower bearers were members of the family.

Mr. Jeffery was born October 4, 1875, and died July 30, 1960. He has been a resident of Westville for the past eleven years.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel; 12 children, Euna Sandefru, Riverside, Calif., Fairy Pettit, Grainesville, Tex., Mattie Bishop, Heavener Springs, Ark., Talmage Jeffery, Calif., Borden Jeffery, Verdie Driskell, Fred Jeffery, all of San Bernardino, Calif., Curtis Jeffery, Forrest Jeffery, Kansas City, Mo., Glenn Jeffery, of Drumright, Faye Lea Bynum, Westville,; 34 grandchildren and 34great-grandchildren."
