Mrs Carrie Lawrence of Mount Olive, wife of Albert Lawrence, died at her home last Monday morning, June 29th, after an illness of several weeks, Mrs Lawrence had been failing health for some time and recently went to the sanitarium at Batesville, where she underwent an operation and her condition continued for the worse until death resulted. She was born and reared at Mt. Olive and was about 48 years of age, being the eldest daughter of the Late Mr and Mrs Jehoida Jeffery. Her first marriage was to Gerault Jeffery, whose death occurred several years ago. Only a few years ago she was married to Albert Lawrence. Besides her husband, she is survived by seven children, two sisters, three brothers and a host of relatives and friends. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and had lived a devout Christian since girlhood, being held in the highest respect by all who knew her. Burial took place in the Hilltop Cemetery at Mount Olive Monday, funeral services being held by Rev. W. H. Long." (Mount Olive Cemetery)
