He owned a successful restaurant; accomplished fisherman and hunter; member of Hiram Lodge, F. and A. M., and of the Washington Union Brotherhood. He was a veteran of the war, having served in the 24th C. V. He was a kind hearted man, a sincere friend, and many a kind deed was done by him without publicity. Service Record: Enlisted in Company I, Connecticut 24th Infantry Regiment on 18 Nov 1862. Mustered out on 30 Sep 1863 at Middletown, CT.
