Obituary
Mr. Arnold B. "Zeke" Dove, 75, of Bartonsville Road, Frederick, formerly of Dickerson, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Hilda V. Tobery Dove, whom he married April 11, 1947.

Born Oct. 14, 1921, in Criders, Va., he was the son of the late John Harvey and Martha E. Yankey Dove.

Mr. Dove was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, where he served for 45 years, and was formerly head usher and a member of the official board. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Before his retirement he was employed for more than 40 years with the federal government. His last assignment was at Fort Detrick. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mary V. Dove of Frederick, and Susan E. Wolfe and husband James of Woodsboro; three sons, Richard Franklin Dove of Poolesville, and William Lee Dove and wife Lillie F., and Ronald B. Dove, all of Frederick; a brother, Emmitt [sic] Dove of Rustburg, VA; two sisters, Zora Young of Frederick and Stella Angleberger of Creagerstown; nine grandchildren, Megan Dove, Jesse Dove, Ian Wolfe, Katherine Wolfe, Julia Wolfe, Lindsey Dove, Jason Dove, Jonathan Dove and Allison Dove; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Cleta Roberts and Tressie Bradshaw, and a brother, Nathan Dove.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 100 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, in Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Gary Sheffield-James of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. Memorial donations may be make to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.
