Emmett Calvin Dove, 77, of Rustburg, died Thursday, Feb 6, 2003, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Rachel (Bea) Cox Dove and was preceded in death by his first wife, Ella Dove.
Born in Criders on April 27, 1925, he was a son of the late John and Martha Yankey Dove. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of Moose Lodge #1727 and the American Legion Post 16.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by ... Nancy M. White (daughter) and her husband, Jeffrey of Cumberland, Md, Charlotte G. Cox of Apex, N.C. (stepdaughter), Kathy C. Harris (stepdaughter) and her husband, Michael of Rustburg, James B. Dove (son) and his wife, June of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Ronald D. Cox (stepson) and his wife Dottie of Paris, Texas, Glenn T. Cox (stepson) of Birmingham, Ala; Dorothy Miller (niece) and her husband, Ken of Mountaindale, MD, 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service by the Rev. Thomas A. Dill Sr. and Pastor Stephen G. Willis with military honors by American Legion Post 16. Burial will take place in Resthaven Memorial Park, Frederick, Md. Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory, 427 Graves Road, in charge of arrangements.
