Mrs. Zora Alta Young, 88, of Frederick, died Thursday, April 23, at Citizens Nursing Center, Frederick.
She was the wife of the late Richard T. Young.
Born July 18, 1909, in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Yankee Dove.
Mrs. Young's hobbies were flower gardening and embroidery.
Surviving are eight children, John T. Young of Gaithersburg, Betty M. Crown and husband Dennis of Urbana, Doris V Barker and husband Onyx of Frederick, Robert A. Young and wife Mary of Myersville, William R. Young and wife Peggy of Dickerson, Roy E. Young of Tennessee, and Bertha A. Smith and husband Lyle and Stella L. Young, all of Frederick; one sister, Stella Angleberger of Woodsboro; one brother, Emmet Dove of Virginia; one daughter-in-law, Carol A. Young of Frederick; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by two children, Myrtle A. Jimmerson and Charles L. Young; two brothers, Nathan and Arnold Dove; and two sisters, Tressie Bradshaw and Cleata Roberts.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111, Beallsville Road (Md. 109), Barnesville, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
