Thomas Cecil Adair, 55, of 118 Summerleas Ave., died this morning in the Columbia Hospital after an illness of several years. He was born in Laurens County, a son of the late Joseph R. and Annie Copeland Adair. He was a graduate of Laurens High School and Draughon's Business Collage of Greenville. He came to Columbia in 1933, where he was engaged in the life insurance business. Later he became associated with the Columbia Mills. Mr. Adair was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation and the Men's Bible Class. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ethel Derrick Adair; a daughter, Cecil Lane Adair, a son, Thomas Cecil Adair Jr.; three brothers, J. R. Adair, Lexington, S. W. Adair, Chattanooga, Tenn., and F. C. Adair, Greenville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Adair had been a patient at the Lowman Home for the past two years. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Webb. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be J. A. Nunnamaker, E. J. Nunnamaker Jr., Otis Duncan, Berley O. Derrick Jr., John W. Derrick and H. Fred Rush. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class of the Lutheran Church of he Reformation. H. L. Pratt, Charles Coggins, John Hilton, Alvin L. Aughtry, Miller Shealy, Dick Weber, T. K. Fowler, W. M. McIver, Claude Long, Joe Walker Jr., Blake Edmunds, Francis Hite, Artis L. Lown, L. E. Shealy, Harry O. Brown and Charles Kahrs.
