William was the son of Chief Sapulpa. He went to school at Tallahassee Mission,in Indian territory in 1872 and was there for five years. Then going to Wooster University in Ohio for three and a half years. He was appointed United States Indian Officer in 1885. In 1887 he was elected to the house of warriors for Cussetha Town. In 1888 he married Lizzie Hartwich and had one child a son George Sapulpa born Jan 3, 1899 died April 19, 1911. William was a full blood Creek Indian. William was born in the Creek Nation, Indian Territory, which became Creek County, OK.
