STRICKEN HOME
The grim hand of death has seldom written a sadder page in family history than that which comes from the home of John Armstrong on Cowpasture river, perhaps four miles from Williamsville, The home circle included father, mother, three children and Mrs. Mary Kincaid, mother of Mrs. Armstrong. Some two weeks ago flu or pneumonia made its appearance, and on Tuesday of last week Mrs. Armstrong, the first victim was buried. On Friday night of the same week Mr. Armstrong and mother-in-law, Mrs. Kincaid, passed away within a few hours of each other, and on Monday of this week the oldest child, a daughter aged 16, was taken. Another member of the family, a little boy, was also stricken, but the relentless enemy seemed at last to shrink back, as if to say “It is enough,” and the little fellow was said to have safely passed the crisis.
