In Holden, Oct. 29, of scarlet fever, Mary F., daughter of Mrs. Eliza Thurston, 14 yrs.
Her parents: Moses and Eliza (Chaffin) Flagg Thurston of Holden, MA. Her brothers were Lyman Flagg, George Washington, Alvin Eugene and James Tottingham Thurston. Her only sister was Matilda Bolton (Thurston) St. George.
Mary's brother George, died in 1864 as well so it was a sad year for their mother, Eliza.
My great grandmother, Matilda St. George, named her only daughter, Mary. I'm sure it was in remembrance of her sister.

On her death certificate it says died aged 14 years 8 months so if you use elapsed time to calculate birthday it would be 29 Feb 1850. Thurston genealogies lists exact birthday and plot record from Grove cemetery lists her birth year as 1851.
