Francis G. "Frank" Stanley was the son of Valentine Chapman Stanley and Rebecca Mingus.
He married Samantha Phillips on 15 Jan 1871 in Athens Co., OH.
They had at least eight children, all born in OH:

- John Elbert Standley, Sr. (1888-1947) m. Edna Black; Edna Maude Losey
Samantha passed away in 1899. Frank married Sarah Jane (England) Tippie on 08 Nov 1911 in Athens Co., OH.
Please note: The photo of the grave marker to the right is not Frank's. It belongs to his first wife, Samantha. No doubt Frank is buried next to her, but his name is only on the marker as "Smanthey, wife of F.G. Standley" - it does not state that he is buried there.
Also, I have not found any proof that Dess Stanley (who is linked below as one of his sons) is one of Frank's biological children. In the 1910 census, he is in the household of William & Della (Tippie) Stanley - listed as William's nephew, not his brother. In the 1920 census, he is in the household of John E. and Edna Standley, again listed as a nephew, not a brother.
(Note: Sometimes Standley is spelled Stanley - members of the same family used different spellings. Frank's middle name may be Gideon, but I have not found any records where his middle name is written out.)
