LEONARD C. STANLEY

Leonard Clair Stanley, age 81, of Clare, passed away on February 17, 1994, at the Clare Nursing Home.

He was born on April 2, 1912, in Farwell, the son of Clair and Mable (Myers) Stanley. He married Hilda Eberhart on June 10, 1936, in Oxford. Mr. Stanley served with the U.S. Army during WW II, and worked with his brother, Leon Stanley, for years at Stanley Oil in Clare. He was a member of the Pettit Kapplinger VFW Post in Clare, and was an umpire for the Clare Little League Association for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Hilda; three sons, Leon and Rita Stanley of Midland, Larry and Diane Stanley of Niceville, FL, and William and Wanda Stanley of Clare; two daughters, Bonnie and Joe Humphrey of Sandusky, and Patricia and Bob Eichler of Midland; two brothers, Leon E. Stanley of Clare, and Floyd Stanley of Cedarville; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Otis.

Funeral services were held on February 21 from the Clare United Methodist Church with Rev. Eugene Lewis officiating. Burial was in Cherry Grove Cemetery at Clare. Arrangements were by the StephensonWyman Funeral Home of Clare.
